In this full-length sermon preached in 1996, Dr. D. James Kennedy shows how the first three petitions of the Lord’s prayer challenge us to do all to the glory of God and put Him first in our lives. Doing so should prompt us to greater concern for others in the body of Christ, in particular those who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.

Dr. Kennedy said, “There is no reason why Christians who are being tortured and persecuted, imprisoned and killed, and who, if they escape before they are killed, should not be allowed into this country. That is what America was built upon.

So when we pray, “Hallowed be Thy name,” let us remember that Christians are being tortured in at least twenty nations, mostly either radical Islamic nations or the dying Communist nations.”

For, as Dr. Kennedy notes at the end of his message: “One of these days you are going to meet all of those brothers and sisters, and they might be very interested to know what you were doing while they were being tortured and killed. Let us remember those who are in prison, even as though we were imprisoned with them.”
