There are those who would say, “I am a Christian, but I don’t really believe in Adam and Eve. I think we just all evolved.” But evolution utterly and finally destroys the very reason for Jesus’ earthly life and Atonement.
What does evolution mean? It means that Jesus did not die for our sins, because He was not God, nor was He the Son of God. He was merely a highly-developed and evolved ape, who could not certainly die for the sins of the world. But there is no scientific evidence that supports it at all. This is now admitted by many, as evolution is just getting ready to go over the precipice.
The curse that God placed upon this world when Adam fell is now seen and described by the simple scientific term “entropy,” which means that everything is collapsing, degrading, rusting out and dying.
Someone said that the fall of man is the only Christian doctrine that is proved empirically—not only proved empirically, but it is proved every day empirically. Pick any paper you want in any city, in any country of the world, and you will find constant reiteration of the effects of the fall and the sinfulness of man.
The account of the fall of Adam and Eve at is a factual and real story of the nature of man. The good news is that there was and is a Second Adam who came and obeyed all of His Father’s commands. He could say, “I do always those things that please him [my Father]” (John 8:29). He lived a perfect life of perfect righteousness, and He died an atoning death to pay for our sins.
