Dr. D. James Kennedy delivered this message on July 4, 1986, in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D. C., for the 3rd Continental Congress on the Christian Worldview.
Noting that what has made America great has been the freedom and liberty it affords to its citizens, Dr. Kennedy pointed out that the most important of these freedoms is our freedom of religion. Prior to the establishment of America’s Bill of Rights, there had been religious toleration, but never before was there a government that officially recognized religious freedom as a right of the people. Today that freedom is under attack. Courageous Christians are needed, if our nation’s liberties and freedoms are to endure. Every Christian should be willing to share the Gospel and be equipped to do so.
